First family food smoking course and we’re off to Galloway Country Fair

August 17th, 2011

Last week we welcomed Eve, Felix, Christine and William to our first exclusive family food smoking course.  All were interested in the science as well as the food, so that kept us on our toes!  And for the first time this year the weather was almost exclusively Cumbrian: rain!  Undeterred there was (relatively) good-natured competition.  Putting the sausage-making machine together fastest, making the tastiest sausage recipe, catching the first trout, the largest fish, smoking the most succulent chicken…

Right.  Well I’ve recently upgraded my database and WordPress.. and now in spite of having changed all my permissions it won’t let me upload the pictures I was going to share.  Before I throw my computer from the highest point around, I shall just mention the Galloway Country Fair… we shall be there at the new venue – Drumlanrigg Castle.   Looking forward to catching up with old friends and perhaps making some new ones.  And who knows, may be there will be a discount available for next weekend’s course!
