Last year I was the very proud winner of the Business Women’s Network fishing competition. We had a fabulous evening down at Bessy Beck trout fishery where local business women gathered to enjoy an evening fishing. Many had never fished before so it was more a fun event than a serious competition and fly fishing tutors Ian and Shelley were there to lend a hand.
It was a bit naughty of me to enter as I have been fishing since I was 4 years old – but it is an occasional hobby (I don’t fish nearly as much as I would like) so I had a bit of an unfair advantage to say the least. However the event’s sponsor Tracey Errington from Market Sense PR company gave me a good run for my money coming in a very close second.
This week I have handed back my treasured trophy as this years competition is being held at Bessy Becks on Sunday 1st July in the afternoon. I am sorry not to be able to be there to defend my title but we are running a smoking course – and anyway it is time to let someone else have a go at lifting the trophy!
