And more lovely people….

June 22nd, 2012

When we got home from The Wild Boar we found a parcel on our doorstep.  Inside was the most beautifully made wooden stand with 14 wooden discs on sticks.  Now those of you who have been on a Smoky Jo’s food smoking course know the significance of having a ‘one stick’ or ‘two stick’ chicken – (or for that matter a ‘half tail’ trout or ‘no fin’ trout!) -it is our way of labeling each persons food before it gets put in the smokers. This wonderful and very clever invention, sent to us by the incredibly kind Jan and her husband Andy has given us a more ‘sophisticated’ way of labeling everyone’s food.

Beautiful wooden pegs for labeling everyone’s food.
I love it!  It is wood, it is rustic, it’s simple and it is beautifully made.

Jan has  suggested that perhaps we should look to replicate the pegs in ceramic but I love them as they are.  Still we will see how they survive the BBQ!

Thank you so much – such a clever yet simple idea – and thank you for thinking of us.

We meet such nice people at Smoky Jo’s!
